Let's discuss the radical 人 (rén) or 亻 (rén)! This is a common radical in Chinese characters and it means 'person' or 'human'. 人 or 亻 is found in many characters relating to people, relationships, and society, like 他 (he/she), 什 (what), and 休 (rest).

But there’s more: the 人 or 亻 radical can also add a meaning of connection and association to a Chinese character. For example, the character 交 (交) (to intersect or to trade) has the 人 or 亻 radical, and the radical emphasizes the idea of two people or entities connecting and interacting with each other.

So, if you're learning Chinese, keep an eye out for the 人 or 亻 radical - it's a fundamental one to know!
